1. General Refund Policy
At Sanctuary, we strive to provide an exceptional experience with our AI-powered philosophical chat application. We understand that circumstances may arise where you may need a refund. This policy outlines our refund terms and procedures.
2. Eligibility for Refunds
Refunds may be requested within 7 days of your subscription purchase under the following conditions:
- Technical issues that prevent you from accessing the service
- Duplicate charges or billing errors
- Service not as described
- Unauthorized charges on your account
Refunds are NOT available for:
- Change of mind after using the service
- Partial subscription periods
- Subscriptions beyond the 7-day refund window
3. Refund Process
To request a refund, please follow these steps:

- Include your order/transaction ID
- Provide a detailed explanation of your refund request
- Include any relevant screenshots or documentation
We will review your request within 3-5 business days and respond via email.
4. Refund Timeline
Once your refund is approved:
- Store refunds (Google Play / Apple App Store): Timing varies by store and payment method — refunds may take several business days to appear
- Your premium subscription will be immediately deactivated when a refund is issued by us or the store
- You will lose access to all premium features
- Your chat history will remain accessible unless you delete your account
5. Partial Refunds
We do not provide partial refunds for unused portions of subscription periods. If you cancel a subscription mid-cycle, you will retain access until the end of your current billing period, but no refund will be issued for the unused time.
6. Billing Disputes
If you notice any billing errors or unauthorized charges:

- Provide transaction details and screenshots (store receipt/order ID helps)
- We will investigate and respond within 3-5 business days
- For purchases made through app stores, you may also file a refund request or dispute directly through Google Play or the Apple App Store; store decisions govern refunds for purchases processed by them
7. Subscription Cancellation and Restore Purchases
Cancellation:
- You can cancel your subscription at any time through the app
- Go to Settings → Subscription Management
- Select "Cancel Subscription"
- You will retain access until the end of your current billing period
- No refund will be issued for the remaining time
- You will not be charged for subsequent billing cycles
Restore Purchases:
- You can restore previously purchased subscriptions using the "Restore Purchases" button
- This is useful when switching devices or reinstalling the app
- Your premium status will be restored if your subscription is still active
- Your purchase history will also be retrieved and displayed
8. Special Circumstances
In exceptional cases, we may consider refund requests outside the standard 7-day window. These will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may include:
- Extended service outages
- Major functionality changes
- Regulatory or legal requirements

9. Payment Platform Policies and Purchase Management
We use the Google Play Store (Android) and the Apple App Store (iOS) to process in-app subscription purchases; subscription management, refunds, and purchase history are governed by the respective store policies. We also use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, entitlements, restore purchases, and track purchase history across platforms.
Restore Purchases:
- Use the "Restore Purchases" button to recover previously purchased subscriptions on a new device or after reinstalling the app
- This retrieves your subscription status and purchase history from the app store
- Your premium features will be restored if your subscription is still active
Purchase History:
- Your transaction records are maintained by RevenueCat and the respective app stores
- You can view your purchase history through your device's subscription management settings
- Contact us if you need assistance retrieving purchase information
Refund and Dispute Process:
- For refund requests or disputes, please first contact us at abhirajid@gmail.com — we will help and may be able to provide purchase validation information
- If a purchase was made through Google Play or Apple, you may request a refund through your Google Play or Apple account purchase history; Google and Apple handle the final refund decision and timing
We encourage you to contact us first to attempt a resolution before filing a dispute with the store.
10. No Refunds for Violations
No refunds will be issued if your account is terminated due to violations of our Terms and Conditions, including:
- Prohibited activities or misuse of the service
- Fraudulent payment information
- Chargebacks or payment reversals
- Violation of intellectual property rights
11. Promotional Offers and Discounts
Refunds for promotional subscriptions or discounted plans:
- Follow the same 7-day refund window
- Refund amount will be the actual amount paid
- Promotional credits or gifts are non-refundable
- Future promotional eligibility may be affected
12. Free Trial Periods
If we offer free trial periods:
- No refund is needed during the trial period (no charge)
- You can cancel anytime during the trial without charge
- After trial ends, standard refund policy applies
- One free trial per user/account
13. Changes to Refund Policy
We reserve the right to modify this refund policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the app. Your continued use of Sanctuary after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We will notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
